About JA of the Heartland
Junior Achievement of the Heartland educates more than 30,500 students in communities such as Quad Cities, Dubuque, Muscatine, Burlington, Sauk Valley, Illinois Valley, and many more.
Mission: To inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
Junior Achievement is dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices. JA’s learning experiences — in the core content areas of work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy — ignite the spark in young people to experience and realize the opportunities and realities of work and life in the 21st century.
Junior Achievement is a global organization that was established in 1919. JA of the Heartland began serving the Quad Cities and surrounding communities in 1956. We have grown from serving 155 students in 1956 to more than 30,500 in 2020.
Junior Achievement is the only nonprofit organization in the world dedicated to youth, education and economic development.
Junior Achievement Facts
Our volunteers and board members put in countless hours – through programs, schools and events across 24 counties. And while we measure success based on the personal growth of each of our students, sometimes it’s fun to put a little math behind it too!
